South East Tasmania
SE Tasmania is a picturesque region spanning north and east of the capital, Hobart and offering a landscape rich in rivers, mountains and the ocean. There are two major rivers (Huon & Derwent) as well as a number of Tasman Peninsula unusual rock formations such as the Devils’ Kitchen, Tasman Blowhole and Tasman Arch. One of Australia’s most important historic sites and Tasmania’s most popular tourist attraction, Port Arthur penal settlement, is also found in this remarkable area. Main towns in this region include Kingston, New Norfolk, Huonville, Sorell, Triabunna, Richmond, Geeveston, Port Arthur.
